Rolex Submariner ref. 16610T - Full Set
This Rolex Submariner features a 40mm Oyster cases crafted from 904L stainless steel that include Triplock screw-down crowns, flat sapphire crystals with the brand’s signature Cyclops magnification lens, and solid screw-down casebacks.
he Rolex Submariner was introduced in 1954 as a robust, highly water-resistant luxury diver’s wristwatch. Its timeless design barely evolved over the course of 60 years, contributing to the legendary status of this model.
The reference 16610 was produced for more than 20 years between 1987 and 2010 and introduced major technical innovations. It replaced the outgoing Submariner reference 16800 and is considered by many collectors as the last “pre-modern” iteration, before Rolex introduced the maxi cases and the ceramic bezel insert with ref. 116610.
The reference introduced progressive changes over its long production period, such as the transition from Tritium to Luminova luminescent material in the late 1990s, the withdrawal of drilled lugs and the Rolex engraving to the dial outer ring. This reference is powered by the caliber 3135 which remains in use for the reference 116610.
The addition of the T in the serial, first seen in 2003, means that the lugs do not have holes for the spring bars.
